Breithorn Traverse - 4165 mt.

§Considered one of the finest and easiest 4000s in the southern Alps, Breithorn is an alpine ridge, part of the Mont Rose chain, that counts several peaks.
The crossing of the glacier is perfectly suitable for those who want to approach the first mountaineering techniques, but certainly open to trained randonneurs as well, who want to discover this fantastic environment baring safely in mind and accompanied by a mountain guide: it is a 4000 mt. peak and altitude should not be underestimated.

The climb can be done upon one day, starting early in the morning from Cervinia. The ascent and descent on glacier last about three hours, depending on your training.

The ascent does not present any peculiar technical difficulty, but the spectacular panorama that opens up in front of your eyes once up there, is a good enough reason to delve into this Alpine world.

Program:
Meeting in Aosta or nearby early in the morning to drive together with the guide to Cervinia. In Cervinia you will take the cable car up to Plateau Rosa. Once there, you will get ready and you will start your traverse on the glacier  - climb to the summit - descent and re-crossing of the glacier.
