Via ferrata is a climbing activity halfway between rock climbing, accrobranche/parcours aventures and hiking. Via ferrata is a type of climbing where climbers are secured by fixed equipment installed on rock faces. This equipment enables climbers to move around more easily and safely, while allowing them a certain amount of freedom in their progress.
In via ferrata, unlike rock climbing, we are not insured by a third party. However, this is an activity that should not be undertaken alone.
Via ferrata is an activity that can be enjoyed by both beginners and experienced hikers. However, it's a good idea to familiarize yourself with mountain safety techniques and how to use the equipment before setting out to climb. In addition, it's important to know your physical and mental capacities and limits, as well as the difficulties of each route. If you look on the internet or in a guidebook, you'll usually find all the information you need on rocky routes.
There's something for all ages, young and old alike.
For training, we recommend the 700m via ferrata "Yves Pollet-Villard", a spectacular route perched between 1,500 and 1,800m above sea level.
Via ferrata is a climbing sport that takes you to places that are inaccessible on foot. It works the muscles of the arms, legs and back, and helps maintain good balance and coordination. It also develops self-confidence and confidence in one's abilities, often involving delicate manipulations above the void.
As you'll have gathered, you don't need to be afraid of heights !
